The Indian Coast Guard (ICG), under the Ministry of Defence, has invited online applications for recruitment of Enrolled Personnel through the Coast Guard Enrolled Personnel Test (CGEPT) for batches 01/2027 and 02/2027. Indian Coast Guard CGEPT Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must be Indian citizens and fulfill the prescribed educational qualification and age criteria.

Navik (General Duty)

Candidates must have passed Class 12th with Mathematics and Physics from an education board recognized by the Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).

Navik (Domestic Branch)

Candidates must have passed Class 10th from an education board recognized by COBSE.

Hygienist-I

Candidates should have Matriculation, ITI, or an equivalent qualification from a board/institution recognized by the Central or State Government.

Yantrik

Candidates must have passed Class 10th and possess a 03 or 04-year diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics or Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering approved by AICTE.

Alternatively, candidates with Class 10th and Class 12th qualifications along with a relevant 02 or 03-year AICTE-approved diploma are also eligible, as prescribed in the notification.

Indian Coast Guard CGEPT 2027 Application Fee

Candidates, except eligible SC/ST candidates applying under the exempted category, are required to pay an examination fee of ₹550.

The fee can be paid through online modes including Net Banking, Visa/Master/Maestro Debit Card, and UPI.

SC/ST candidates applying for the relevant vacancies are exempt from paying the examination fee.

CGEPT 2027 Selection Process

Stage-II

Candidates shortlisted for Stage-II will undergo the recruitment process at designated ICG Recruitment Centres.

The Stage-II process includes:

CGEPT 2027 Medical Standards

The notification prescribes mandatory medical standards for candidates.

The notification also mentions benefits such as free ration and clothing, medical facilities, government accommodation/HRA, leave benefits, pension under applicable schemes, CSD facilities, ECHS benefits after retirement and ₹75 lakh insurance cover through the Naval Group Insurance Fund, subject to applicable rules.

CGEPT 2027 Training

The basic training for CGEPT 01/2027 is scheduled to commence in May 2027, while training for CGEPT 02/2027 is scheduled to commence in November 2027 at INS Chilka, followed by sea training and professional training in the allotted trade.
